How We Get It Done

The Comprehensive Plan Update was initiated in March of 2026 and will run through four phases until the Plan adoption in May of 2027.

PHASE 1 | LAUNCH

MARCH - MAY

PHASE 2 | FOUNDATIONS & ALIGNMENT

APRIL - SEPTEMBER

PHASE 3 | COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

APRIL - DECEMBER

PHASE 4 | PLAN DEVELOPMENT

NOVEMBER - MAY 2027

  • Establish the Project Management Team

  • Prepare online engagement & website

  • Host a community pop-up

  • Meet with the committee three times

  • Review City plans and zoning code

  • Audit the existing Comprehensive Plan

  • Analyze existing conditions and trends

  • Launch project website & online engagement

  • Host stakeholder roundtables (up to eight)

  • Conduct two public meetings

  • Compile and summarize public feedback

  • Compile ideas to create achievable recommendations

  • Create opportunities for a Future Land Use Map

  • Create strategies and next steps for effective implementation

  • Draft Plan document ready to present to City Council for adoption
